Polgold Jewelers was founded in 1994 by Mirek Plewa, a master jeweler with a deep appreciation for diamonds and fine jewelry, and his wife Michelle. Growing up overseas, Mirek began an apprenticeship in the jewelry trade at a very young age. After immigrating to the United States in 1989, Mirek supported his family by repairing jewelry for multiple jewelry stores. Long hours and late nights on the bench motivated Michelle to begin learning the jewelry trade. She quickly developed a love and devotion for jewelry that ultimately lead the young couple to the opening of their own jewelry store.
